Ask the Devs - SOE Answers On Claim Linking and 3D Modeling

EverQuest Next Landmark is mere weeks away from launch and fans still have so many questions! EQHammer is working to get you answers directly from SOE. This week, they've provided us with answers to your questions about linking claims as well as 3D modeling for gear and other items.

Q:

Is there a limit to how many simultaneous claims a character can have? Can we connect several claims to form a bigger one? [Submitted by altheapia and Netherion]

A:

Each additional claim will have an escalating cost associated with it, so there will certainly be a practical limit. As for connecting claims together, we definitely want players to be able to have larger projects in the world. Connecting claims is one way in which this can be accomplished.

Q:

We know that we can shape the landscape as we build, but will there be 3D modeling for things like clothing items, jewelry, weapons, etc.? [Submitted by JustAGuy]

A:

We are definitely planning on having ways that players can use 3D modeling programs to create things for the game.  Just take a look at Player Studio in many of the other games from SOE and you can get some idea of what we will allow.
